Engineer / Planner
Barton works on a variety of engineering projects with SEEDS and the EDC. His area of expertise is on water systems sustainability, life cycle assessment, and comparative analysis of stormwater and wastewater treatment options. He received a B.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a M.S. in Ecological Economics, Planning and Design at the University of Vermont. He is currently a committee member of the United Nations Environment Programme – Society of Ecological Toxicologists and Chemists, Life Cycle Initiative’s Impact Assessment, Natural Resource working group. Barton's other interests include backcounty skiing, ecological architecture, ecological restoration, and community revitilization.
